Information:
This is to advise you that the passenger train does not travel to Labrador City anymore. Travelers travelling to and from Labrador must take highway 500 to Emeril Jct.  Travelers can wait for the train at the camp at Emeril. It is your responsibility to travel to Emeril, approximately 45 minutes drive from Labrador City.

Tshiuetin means “North Wind”. A selected expression for a Nordic way and also it underlines the impact of such a company for the aboriginal communities.  Indeed, it is a strong wind of freshness which blows now.  For the first time in the history of our country, a railroad is owned by a group of  First Nations.
 

Tshiuetin Rail Transportation Inc. is 132.5 miles of railway connecting Emeril (Labrador) and Schefferville.  The owners are the 3 following first Nations:

- Innu Takuaikan Uashat Mak Mani-Utenam

- Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach

 - Nation Innu Matimekush– Lac John

The company began its operations on December 1,2005 and presently hires forty employees.
